Abstract:
Building extraction using SAR imagery has been a subject of interest since the availability of high resolution SAR images. In 2008, a new method of DEM extraction using circular imagery has been proposed. This paper uses the main ideas of "Bolter, Reconstruction of man-made objects from high-resolution SAR images", and gives a deeper insight of how generate such a DEM. Given the slant range geometry which leads to large shadow areas, it is essential to use the information from many different points of view in order to fill the gaps. This paper focuses on the strategy to select the right altitude hypothesis in presence of ambiguities.
