A Diversity Preprocessor for the Multichannel Wiener Filter

In this paper a microphone combining system for speech enhancement is proposed, where the microphones are placed under diversity conditions. Therefore a Spectral Combiner and a Coherence Blocking Matrix are applied as preprocessing units to the Multichannel Wiener Filter. With the proposed system it is possible to combine speech signals received at several microphone positions with different signal conditions. The system enhances the use of the Multichannel Wiener Filter approach with distributed microphones, which are placed under diversity conditions.
