Abstract:
This paper proposes a dynamic clock operation technique that reduces the network system power consumption drastically. A WDM-based dynamic network based on the proposed technique can efficiently accommodate widely diversified users. The potential of the proposal to reduce the power consumption is assessed against trends in device technologies and its effectiveness is confirmed.
