Abstract:
In this paper, we propose a novel 2-step radio resource management algorithm, which treats user differently according to their respective quality of service (QoS) requirements, and solves the problem of the conventional general proportional fair (GPF) algorithm with heterogeneous user QoS requirements. The proposed algorithm is composed of user ordering step and sub-channel allocation step, which guarantee the scheduling delay and data rate requirements, respectively. In such a manner, the proposed 2-step radio resource management algorithm is able to enhance the system performance by serving more users with their target data rates without violation of their scheduling delay requirements, comparing to the conventional algorithms.
