Abstract:
Network virtualization is expected as a key technology for rapid deployment of new communication services and continuation of legacy communication services over new infrastructure networks. Network virtualization based on the concept of "overlay network" over pure-IP networks can, however, suffer from resource contention among multiple overlay networks. In this paper we address the network resource management of multi-layer networks for network virtualization. We expect that network virtualization over multi-layer networks consisting of layer-1, 2, and 3 to address the issues of network virtualization over the Internet: interference among overlay networks as they con-tend the same infrastructure network resource.
