Abstract:
Theory and experiment of electrical injection metal-cavity surface-emitting nanoscale lasers with continuous-wave operation at room temperature are presented. We discuss the design, fabrication, and characteristics of our recently demonstrated metal-cavity surface-emitting microlasers, and compare our theoretical results with the experimental data with a very good agreement. We then discuss possible further size reduction of the nanolasers.
