              Abstract:
In this paper, a parametric study on different types of transmission lines (TLs) intended for integrated TL based σ δ modulators (ITLSDMs) is presented. The effects of TL parameters such as width, length, spacing and meandering have been studied for microstrip (MS), coplanar waveguide (CPW) and tapered TLs. The guidelines for selecting the proper TL ending up to an areabased or a power consumption-based design of the SDM have been presented. The test bench used to verify the results is the resonator employed in a 4th order fs/4 bandpass SDM with a center frequency (fR) of 2.5GHz. It is designed in a 0.25um BiCMOS technology.
