The article deals with the requirements to antenna system of multimode spaceborne S-band SAR for small space vehicle. It was offered to use hybrid mirror antennas (MA) with Active Array Feed (AAF-MA), where it is possible to combine digital antenna pattern generation and electronic beam scanning in two planes : - in elevation to implement ScanSAR and HRWS modes and in azimuth - to obtain high resolution along track.
