Abstract:
If the SAR data are acquired in a repeat-pass interferometric configuration, it will be possible to detect small-scale changes from the interferometric coherence images. The coherence images add a new dimension to the pure SAR backscatter change. Results from analyzing several COSMO-SkyMed(TM) SAR images using 1-day and 8-days repeatpass shows that a sequence of three or more SAR coherence images will enable the user to better distinguish between natural changes and man-made activities. Analysis of coherence images also reveal “pattern of life” that very well can be used to update a total situational awareness map within a region of interest.
