Abstract:
In this work we present an urban morphological database of Paris which is designed primarily for atmospheric modeling in small scale to model air movement and energy balance to asses risks related to air quality and extreme weather events. The database has been created from a stack of Interferometric SAR (InSAR) image pairs and openly available maps and aerial images. The created database demonstrates an affordable approach for retrieving morphological information for large urban areas where air quality and extreme temperatures are potential problems. The database can be used also in many other risk assessment applications, discussed further in the paper.
