Abstract:
The high performance and high stability requirements of the Sentinal-1 mission has presented challenges for the development of the SAR Electronics Subsystem for this mission. The Astrium UK design response has been a highly flexible yet stable system design. This paper will present the design considerations and the architectural approach, the implementation experience and will present the achieved test results that have met the design demands. It will look at the design for Operational Flexibility achieved with full configuration control. It will present the digital synthesis and digital signal processing achieved and will address how the system manages the fully configurable compression techniques needed to meet the Mission objectives.
