Abstract:
We have investigated the ability to use several satellite SAR sensors in order to map forest types in the Arctic region. Radarsat-2 full polarimetric data can be decomposed and used to discriminate between forest and nonforest areas, while COSMO-SkyMed 1-day interferometric coherence data are used to extract forest types of various densities.
