Abstract:
A dual-polarization coherent receiver based on polymer planar lightwave circuit is presented. Polarization beam-splitter, two optical 90deg hybrids and photodiodes are integrated on one chip. First, results of basic characterizations of the receiver are given. Second, the performance of the device is evaluated in system experiments with 16-QAM and QPSK modulation up to 112 Gb/s. The influence of phase errors of the 90deg hybrids is evaluated experimentally.
