Abstract:
The following paper demonstrates a dual-port antenna design for radio frequency identification (RFID) smart sensors. The design has derived from a high-performance microstrip structure for UHF RFID on-metal applications based on a DiClad 880 substrate. The antenna is optimized to supply RF-powered smart sensors applying an EPC compliant RFID data logger IC combined with an RF energy harvester IC within the UHF frequency band around 868 MHz.
