Abstract:
Hysteretic control for integrated switching-mode DC-DC converters has recently gained higher importance due to the simplicity of its design and robustness of its large-signal stability. Still, small-signal stability of the converter in steady- state using classical linearization is not reasonable. This paper focuses on the stability considerations of hysteretic controlled DC- DC converters using sliding-mode control in the phase plane. Mathematic criteria are derived, which prove the well-known inherent stability of hysteretic controlled DC-DC converters.
