Abstract:
A new low-power low-cost Bluetooth demodulator for low-IF receiver architecture for bluetooth application is presented. With the single-bit quantized bit stream from SigmaDelta ADC, a mux based frequency converter can shift the IF signal into DC level without multipliers. Compared to the conventional demodulator, the power consumption and complexity of the demodulator is significantly reduced. On the other hand, based on differential non-coherent detection structure, the phase offset can be recovered with a very low sampling rate, satisfactory bit error rate (BER) performance is achieved.
