Abstract:
A systematic design method for the state of the art Bluetooth Low Energy receivers is introduced. The communication requirements are used to determine the receiver figure of merits. The optimal receiver topology is introduced and the block level specifications are then drived from system level requirements forming the complete level plan. Finally, suitable analog to digital converter (ADC) types are being discussed and SNR and dynamic range of the propossed ADC are driven by using the proposed level plan.
