Abstract:
The current study investigates the modeling of modality choice in multimodal systems based on interaction parameters and quality ratings of the component modalities. It is shown that task abort rate, rather than task duration, has an indirect influence on later modality preference by affecting specific aspects of the perceived quality of that modality.
