Abstract:
This paper presents a high efficient and reliable single-phase single-stage inverter suitable for photovoltaic application. The proposed inverter basically is a current source boost inverter (CSBI) with a modification in the power stage. In addition, a new switching pattern for current source inverter modulation is also proposed. These features increase the efficiency and reliability by using the minimal number of switches in every state (charging and discharging state). Maximum power point tracker (MPPT) is also considered to manage the maximum power of the AC modules using perturb and observe (P&O) algorithm. Finally, simulation results are presented to provide the proof of concept with a detailed performance comparison to the latest literature topologies.
