Abstract:
Temperature effects on two popular telecom PFC topologies are investigated both analytically and empirically. Both approaches yield similar results. The efficiency of the Dual Boost Bridgeless PFC is shown to dramatically decrease in high ambient temperatures that can be encountered in mast installations of telecom PSUs. The Interleaved CCM boost PFC is shown to be less sensitive to the rise in temperature.
