Abstract:
Remote power feeding by a smart micro power grid is a sustainable method for feeding telecommunication sites. It is also a promising route to achieving cost efficient back-up power for telecommunication transmission sites. In a micro power grid the AC power is generated centrally and distributed via separate dedicated lines to telecommunication sites. A centralized power production site lowers costs, with decreased diesel consumption, and enables the use of renewable power sources such as hydro, wind and solar power.
