Abstract:
In this paper are presented the actual Work Items on Energy saving that are in the ETSI standardization work programme. European Telecommunication Standardization Institute (ETSI) is the regional organization that is recognized by the EC and EFTA as one of the three official standards-making bodies in Europe, and is responsible for standardization in the whole field of telecommunications, including radio, broadcasting and private telecommunications. The EU Mandate M/462 requires the three ESOs (CEN, CLC and ETSI) to coordinate a response indicating the current standardisation activities “in the field of ICT to enable efficient energy use in fixed and mobile information and communication networks”, to identify gaps and propose a work programme to address any such gaps identified.
