Abstract:
High availability is a critical requirement of telecommunication power supply. Therefore, this paper addresses the faulty operation of a mult-input converter for a photovoltaic wind supply system for telecommunications and proposes fault diagnostic methods. Two different fault diagnostic techniques are used for each port based on the converter and renewable energy generator properties. They are robust against load and climatic transients (the latter influences the electrical energy production). Additionally, they do not require any extra sensors, besides the ones already used for controlling the converter, not adding any extra costs or complexity to it.
