Abstract:
Eigenvalue-based spectrum sensing methods have been proposed for advanced cognitive radios to solve the low SNR and noise uncertainty challenges. One very crucial drawback of eigenvalue based spectrum sensing techniques is their high computation complexity. In this paper, power methods for eigenvalue computation are studied with the proposed energy with maximum eigenvalue (EMaxE) detection as potential methods for reduced complexity.
