Abstract:
This paper presents results on optimization of aperture coupled patch antenna arrays with U-slotted ground for bandwidth enhancement in Direction of Arrival (DoA) estimations. The aim of this paper is to show the effects that the use of U-slotted ground in aperture coupled patch antenna arrays for frequency bandwidth enhancement can cause on DoA estimation capabilities. In our work the direction finding will be performed using Cramér-Rao Lower Bounds (CRLB) and an optimization will be drawn in order to achieve the U-slot geometry for optimum CRLB values.
