Abstract:
To improve the performance of Wireless Local Area Networks (WLAN) and to increase the maximum data rate a new network generation with synchronized access points (AP) is proposed. The synchronization procedure is processed in a self-organized way. It is based on a test signal which is transmitted from each AP to synchronize all stations (STA) inside a single cell. The same test signal will be transmitted by each STA in the uplink phase to establish synchronization between all adjacent APs in the same service area. This synchronization process is going to avoid inter-cell interferences and allows applying a frequency division multiple access (FDMA) scheme which will benefit from multi user diversity (MUD).
