Abstract:
Abstract—In this paper we present a new widely linear iterative equalizer for Single Carrier systems with Frequency Domain Equalization (SC-FDE). It was seen that when the transmitted symbols are improper there is a performance gain when using this novel equalizer with respect to the strictly linear version, due to the complete use of the available second-order statistics. Also, the widely linear iterative equalizer needs less iterations to reach its maximum performance when compared to the strictly linear version.
