Abstract:
More and more safety critical applications are moving to networking and distributed embedded systems are growing in number and complexity in actual vehicles. In such context high reliable data transmission, with high speed and determinism, is indispensable. FlexRay was developed to satisfy such requirements and it has become the actual standard for in-vehicle safety and time-critical applications. This paper analyzes the available detection methods for a FlexRay Network. A novel detection method and a possible design implementation are also proposed. Such method makes use of the peculiar symmetry of a FlexRay network and allows improvements in the static and dynamic detection performances.
