In this paper an intelligent driver module with a single 2-wire-connection, allowing a combined signal and power transfer, is presented, which could be used in highly integrated mechatronic systems. Compared to a traditional centralised control approach, where all gate signals for a whole system are generated in one control unit and have to be routed to each power switch, wiring effort is reduced. Therefor control signals are digitally encoded and transmitted to an intelligent driver circuit, which finally creates gate signals.
