Abstract:
The contactless transmission of energy and data offers many advantages and new capabilities for a multitude of applications. The most important benefits are the increase of reliability, security and availability and not least an improvement of convenience. Today the combined contactless transmission of energy and data comes into operation in many application areas; for instance in mechanical engineering, industrial facilities, changeable tools, medical technology, process technology, automotive or in home and office areas. Beside these opportunities the basics of the technology and new developments are presented in this paper.
