Abstract:
A simple, low cost and fail-safe LVDT position sensor allows reliable measurements in harsh environment. It delivers unaltered sensor signals in presence of ferro- and permanent magnetic materials or magnetic fields and can be subsequently applied to nearly any application as an open sensor system. To demonstrate the performance of such a sensor a closed-loop controlled, high-precision metering pump with a disposable pump element was developed, that can be used e.g. as a medical infusion pump.
