Abstract:
This paper presents a collocated MIMO OFDM Radar intended for automotive applications at 24 GHz. In order to allow range, Doppler and angle estimation a multiple-antenna configuration is necessary. Using the uncorrelated spectrallyinterleaved OFDM signals, the signal transmission can be done simultaneously and sensing can be accomplished within one cycle. This modified OFDM signal also allows for multiple users using the same system to be active at the same time. This technique is robust towards inter-carrier interference that is experienced due to Doppler shift of the relative velocity up to 200 km/h, a sufficient estimate for automotive purposes.
