Abstract:
In this paper a transmission-line phase shifter (TLPS) using a back-to-back varactor configuration is proposed to handle high power. Two TLPSs using a typical and backto-back varactor configuration are investigated considering high input power. The back-to-back varactor configuration can enhance power handling capability and moreover, maintain the range of phase shift when the input power increases. A phase shifter cell using a CMOS technology is simulated. The TLPS cell can achieve a phase shift of 52deg and the maximum insertion loss of –2:2 dB. From 2:3 GHz to 2:5 GHz, the S11 is below –10 dB during different phase shifts.
