Abstract:
Small part assembly is a very important industrial process and it becomes more and more popular with the quick development of 3C industries (computer, communication and consumer electronics) all over the world. But 3C industries automation level is still very low because the products of 3C industries have the following characters: versatile types, small size, demand for high precision and short life time. This paper describes an automatic assembly solution which includes a dual arm robot, smart cameras, PLC, 3D printer and so on. And also discusses quick prototyping of mechanical parts, cell calibration and vision problems in detail. Mutex zone is proposed for multi robot cooperation. Project error of camera is analysed and corrected. Experiment results demonstrate great advantage of dual arm robot in small part assembly area and get positive feedback from early adopter.
