Abstract:
TanDEM-X is a spaceborne mission, consisting of two SAR satellites flying in close formation. The main objective of the mission is to generate a global and homogeneous digital elevation model (DEM) by interferometric processing of the SAR acquisitions. The DEM is acquired in bistatic stripmap single polarization mode. On top of that, further acquisition modes are possible, due to the flexibility offered by operating both satellites in different interferometric and imaging mode combinations. This paper aims to show the high potential of these experimental modes, with main focus on the evaluation of their SAR and interferometric performance.
