Abstract:
This paper presents early results for the ability to detect stationary and moving humans using the UHF UWB SAR system LORA. Radar data were gathered in a flight campaign in December 2012. In the experiment, one of the moving humans was focused using average speed and direction. In the field campaign GPS-positions for the humans were saved and the information was used in the focusing. To evaluate the results numerically, the signal-to-noise ratio was measured for different integration times around the time corresponding to minimum range. Up to integration times of approximately 25 seconds the SNR improved.
