Abstract:
This paper presents an analysis of the impulse response function (IRF) of holographic SAR tomography (HoloSAR) in the (x; y; z) space by means of multicircular acquisitions. The IRF of the system is studied in the time and frequency domains as a function of central frequency, acquisition geometry, system bandwidth, and number of tracks in elevation for targets in and off the center of the imaged scene. Thereby, achieving the best compromise between peak-to-sidelobe ratio and resolution to form full 3-D reconstructions. The theory of the IRF is validated with a multicircular campaign conducted at L-band by the DLR’s F-SAR sensor over a region in Kaufbeuren, Germany. This paper finalizes with a summary of the contributions and the future work.
