In this paper we present a power efficient reporting algorithm for M2M data transmission, which is especially suited for non-delay critical services. The algorithm provides an attempt to solve the problem of temporarily bad coverage for stationary M2M applications. In particular, the enhanced algorithm will check a SNR against a threshold before transmitting a M2M data report. With this approach non-successful transmissions during times of bad coverage can be avoided. Simulation results are presented to illustrate the performance improvement compared to a baseline algorithm. Moreover, the the trade-off between reduced transmit power and increased delay when adjusting a specific threshold in different scenarios is discussed.
