Abstract:
Synthesis methods of melt-infiltrated copper-graphite-composites with tailored microstructures will be presented. For a tailored microstructure design, the synthesis of open-porous graphite preforms is necessary. It is reported on progress in the powder preparation for these preforms. Microstructure and tribo-electric properties will be compared with a commercial material. A specific developed tribo-electric characterisation device is demonstrated. It is used for simultaneous testing of tribo-electric, thermal and electrical effects. First results of wear and friction behaviour at ambient and elevated temperatures will be shown.
