Abstract:
The ‘Energiewende’ in Germany introduces a major change in the energy system. The transition to decentralised renewable and efficient generators and heating appliances introduces various issues on the low voltage grid. A 2020 scenario for the penetration of an exemplary low voltage grid with combined heat and power systems, heat pumps and photovoltaic generators is developed. The exemplary grid is simulated with the gained penetrations focusing on the voltage level as well as transformer and cable loading. The results are evaluated from a manufacturer’s perspective and several measures to increase the possible penetration are discussed.
