Abstract:
Cities like Munich and Stuttgart notice a decline of car ownership in young age groups. At the same time the usage of Public Transport has increased, and ‚modern‘ car sharing has been established as an alternative to owning a car. Integrated, multimodal mobility services are emerging. Information Technology (IT) is playing a crucial role: with the high penetration of Smartphones, the processing and dissemination of real-time information in the Cloud, the ‚Transportation Internet‘ is evolving. Its core is a B2B platform that mediates between all transport service providers while ensuring data privacy for the traveller.
