Abstract:
This paper proposes two transmission optimization schemes, which use information about the statistical properties of a multiple-input multiple-output radio channel to adjust either transmission power or modulation and code rate to achieve a target frame error rate. This builds on our previous work, which sought to predict the statistical performance of an iterative receiver by predicting the probability of a successful convergence by examining the mutual information transfer charts of a minimum mean square error equalizer and a turbo decoder.
