Abstract:
Current planning guidelines of electricity distribution grids do not consider smart grid technologies and smart market activities. This leads to a conservative grid planning associated with huge investments. New planning guidelines have to be developed which consider smart grid technologies and smart market options, based on the optimum between grid development and smart market activities.
