Abstract:
Technologies for a recipe app with robust speech interaction in the kitchen (Kochbot) are combined with a networked kitchen. In such a semi-automated kitchen, controlled by the textual recipe instructions or spoken commands, kitchen appliances such as hob, extractor hood, water tap etc. can support the cook and relieve, e.g., users with disabilities from concurrent or time-critical procedures. The integrated system has been prototypically implemented and demonstrated to the public at the CeBIT technology fair 2014 in Hanover and IFA 2014 (International Electronics Show) in Berlin. The proposed speech-assisted intelligent kitchen is beneficial to cooking beginners as well as people with disabilities, specifically the blind and people with memory disorders.
