Abstract:
The ability to calculate the fundamental wave iron losses is required for the prediction of a servomotor’s efficiency at different operating points. In this paper we propose an extended iron loss model which yields the fundamental wave iron losses of the motor as a function of motor speed, current and magnet temperature. The parameters of the extended model are determined by a statistical fit of the model to measurement data. Measurements at different cooling levels are required in order to determine the model parameters correctly.
