Abstract:
The aim of this paper is the characterization of the electrical symmetry of motor windings. The technique that is exploited in this work is based on the detection of the resonant frequency of an LCR circuit whose inductance and resistance is represented by the strand to be identified. The single identified inductance values are consequently compared to each other in order to provide an overall evaluation of the winding symmetry. After a thorough explanation of the measurement principle and of the developed electrical circuit, the measurement technique is verified by means of a reference LCR meter. Finally, the measurement results are shown and discussed proving that the measurement principle has high repeatability joined to a quick convergence to the exact measurement.
