Abstract:
In general, various subsystems, which together form a more complex overall system, are necessary for investigating and comparing feedforward and closed-loop control methods for driving small and miniature electromagnetic drives, especially brushless (BL) motors. The resulting hardware/software combinations and configurations are often specialized and rarely offer possibilities for adaptation. This paper presents the structure and operating principle of a motion control measurement system which is characterized by high flexibility, extensive functionality and ease of use. A wide range of control methods and measurements can be tested and investigated on a single platform, thereby allowing for a good comparison among the tested approaches. The presented system also simplifies the set-up and implementation of drive and control systems.
