Abstract:
This paper presents the results of innovative grid planning methods applied to several concrete and representative rural German medium and low voltage distribution grids. This includes planning variants with the exclusive use of conventional primary equipment, the exclusive use of innovative technologies as well as a combined and optimized conventional-innovative expansion planning approach. The goal is to define optimal planning and operation guidelines for rural distribution grids in Germany.
