Abstract:
The increasing effort for grid planning due to the rising number of decentralized power plants necessitates improved grid planning methods. This paper presents a tool for automated grid expansion planning. It determines economically optimal grid reinforcement measures for grids with given PV-plant distributions, considering conventional grid reinforcement and Smart Grid technologies. The state of the art grid planning is extended by segment specific reinforcement strategies and costs. The presented algorithm is applied to a reinforcement planning showcase of a reference distribution grid.
