Abstract:
Cloud computing, enabling Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), results in significantly reduced costs for making IT-applications available to customers. Network Function Virtualisation (NFV) adds increased flexibility and reduced costs for connectivity amongst virtualized IT-applications and clients. However, initial setup of networks with physical network elements, as needed e.g. in customer premises LANs, is still time consuming, costly and error prone. This paper addresses requirements and alternative solutions for automatic bootstrapping of such networks.
